Flight Handling in Response to Pneumonia Linked to New-type Coronavirus (Last Updated May 7, 2021)

Thank you very much for your continued and loyal support of Peach.

Since December 2019, there have been multiple reports of pneumonia outbreaks linked to a new type of coronavirus.
Peach’s handling in regard to this outbreak is as follows.

 

1. Flight Suspensions or Reduction for some flights in response to the spread of the New-type Coronavirus

In responding to the spread of the New-type Coronavirus, we have decided to temporarily suspend or deduct service for some flights and have applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for the change of the flight schedule plan.
We sincerely apologize to all of our customers affected by this decision.

2.Special Handling of Japan Domestic Flights

For flights listed below, regardless of flight status, either refund or transfer to an alternative Peach flight is available.
No handling fee will be applied to either refund or flight transfer.

 

■Flights to/from Tokyo (Narita) / Osaka (Kansai) Airport

Eligible reservation : Flights listed below which were booked on or before April 23, 2021
Eligible boarding date : From April 25, 2021 to May 11, 2021
Application deadline for Refund or Transfer to an alternative Peach flight : Until May 11, 2021
Eligible period for alternative flight departure date:Until June 30, 2021

 

2)
Eligible reservation : Flights listed below which were booked on or before May 7, 2021
Eligible boarding date : From May 12, 2021 to May 31, 2021
Application deadline for Refund or Transfer to an alternative Peach flight : Until May 31, 2021
Eligible period for alternative flight departure date:Until June 30, 2021

 


■Flights to/from  Nagoya (Chubu) / Fukuoka Airport 
Eligible reservation : Flights listed below which were booked on or before May 7, 2021
Eligible boarding date : From May 12, 2021 to May 31, 2021
Application deadline for Refund or Transfer to an alternative Peach flight : Until May 31, 2021
Eligible period for alternative flight departure date:Until June 30, 2021
 
* Tickets that has been cancelled or changed to a departure date out of the eligible period are ineligible for refund or flight transfer without charge.

  1. STEP 1. Make a booking search at the "Manage Booking" site.

    Please prepare the booking number and one of the passengers' family name (not the full name) for this search. (A registered Peach account holder can also check by logging-in to the Peach account using a PC)

  2. STEP 2. To confirm the "Notice of transfer or refund of booking flight" notification message for an eligible flight.

    ■ For flights eligible for special handling

    ①①In case the flight being searched is significantly delayed or eligible for special handling, the status will be shown as "Schedule Change" on top of the departure date.
    ②Please choose whether to depart as scheduled, to transfer to an alternative Peach flight or to refund for this eligible flight.
    *No handling fee required for this flight transfer/refund application.

4. About restrictions on entry to countries due to New-type Coronavirus

Due to the influence of Pneumonia linked to New-type Coronavirus, entry restrictions have been announced.

5. Customers and Crew Safety: at the Airports

In order to reassure passengers flying with Peach, the following measures will be taken in the airports of Peach destinations including airports inside Japan.

■Notifications at the Airports by Posters and Announcements
Notifications are made by posters at the check-in counters reminding passengers to inform our staff when feeling unwell.
Announcements are being made at the check-in counters and boarding gates reminding passengers to wear a mask when on-board.
■Wearing of Masks and face shields by Ground Staff
Ground staff will wear masks to give our passengers peace of mind. At some of the airports, ground staff will wear face shields.
■Installation of plastic curtain at the check-in counters
As an additional measure at some airports, plastic curtains will be installed at counters.
 

6. Customers and Crew Safety: On-board

■Disinfecting of Cabins
In order to reassure passengers flying with Peach, we are disinfect the following parts of the aircraft when carrying out cabin cleaning on flights departing from Kansai Airport and Narita Airport: Tables, seat equipment such as armrests, toilet door knobs, and other parts with which passenger's hands come into contact.
■In-flight Announcements by Cabin Attendants
On-baord announcements are being made reminding passengers to wear a mask.
■Wearing of Masks and gloves by Cabin Attendants
Cabin attendants have been wearing masks and gloves on board to reassure passengers who are using our services.
■Temporary Suspension of In-flight Shopping Services
Effective from 9th March, all in-flight shopping services will be temporarily suspended on all routes. Please prepare your own drinks before boarding.
 

7. On-board Air Circulation and Hygiene

Peach has installed the latest filters* on the air conditioning systems of all its aircraft.
Through these filters, purified air and air from outside the aircraft is provided into the cabin.
This air is then expelled from the aircraft, meaning that all the air in the cabin is refreshed approximately every 3 minutes.

*High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter: A high-performance filter that removes 99.97% of 0.3 μm particles.
 

8. Distribution of "Health Cards" Created by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and Quarantine Stations

A health card created by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and quarantine stations entitled "Novel Coronavirus Infection Occurring in Wuhan City, China" is being distributed on board to passengers.
 

9. Transportation of Sanitizing Products

Spatial sanitization products used as precautions against infection of new coronavirus etc. may not be transported by aircraft.
